LOOKING BACK 2007

Don Wilkerson

I trust you and yours have had a blessed 2007---our family has, for which we are most grateful. As major newsmagazines and networks review the outstanding world and national events of the year---we all have our own personal highlights. I share a few of the Wilkerson household and mine.

50th Anniversary

I have loved working with my brother on the planning of the 50th Anniversary of Teen Challenge at Times Square Church; as well as participating with David and others in the recording of the video to also be released early in 2008 in conjunction with the 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Germany:

. . . projects in Germany: including helping a TC Center in the northwest of Germany to open a Re-Entry Home and to plant a church. Also, working with my good friend Jesse Owens to open an office for his organization, Global Renewal, and my own ministry that I now operate, Behold Ministries in Germany.

2 Timothy 3:15 Fund:

One of the great needs worldwide is trained and educated leaders to carry on the work to a new generation. One of the great challenges is finding a way to train and educate young men and women of vision in third world countries. We started the 2 Timothy 3:15 Fund to fund scholarships for the continuing education Teen Challenge graduates in Third World countries.

Missions

I have joined the Board of Directors and become the Missions Director for Long Island Teen Challenge under the leadership of Jimmy Jack, one of my spiritual sons. We are planning upcoming overseas crusades with him in Mexico, Tanzania and Kenya.

Ministry

... doing speaking tours in Germany, and Canada; and ministering at my home church in Richmond, Virginia and at Freedom Chapel Long Island and at the Spiritual Emphasis for Long Island Teen Challenge as well as speaking at various other TC events.

New Life for Youth

Serving on the Board of New Life for Youth in Virginia founded by one of my spiritual sons, Victor Torres. It has been a joy to see this ministry grow and mature as they reach men and women with drug and alcohol addictions. This year we have seen the training and educational aspects of the program impact many lives. New Life is committed to preparing the students for their future by having a balance between work projects and discipleship education. For this I commend them, and feel my serving this ministry is well worth the time and effort.

Facilitating Evangelism

Having various meetings with some brothers in New York City desiring to help provide evangelism outreach literature; and helping to establish a new ministry focused on the need to reach Jews and share the burden to lift up Israel in prayer.

Family

Enjoying time with my wife and our 3 adult children Kristy and Todd that live in New York City and Julie in nearby Fredricksburg, Virginia; and being with my grandchildren Abigail (8), Hannah (6) Ethan (3) and Gracie (4).

Graduates

Meeting Teen Challenge graduates everywhere I go in the USA and overseas. They are the true legacy of TC and I never get tired of hearing their testimonies. I am most blessed and impressed in meeting those that have now been walking in victory and freedom for years and years and decades.

Thank you for you partnership in ministry. Your prayers and support make it all possible.
